Sunshine

Meet Sunshine! A 4.5Y old labrador mix adopted from the Carlsbad Animal Shelter. Sunshine has received extensive training with Shelter to Soldier as he prepared for life as a service dog. He loves training, playtime and cuddles! Sunshine walks well on a leash, understands obedience commands, loves to play fetch, is crate trained, and does well in public. He plays well with other dogs that match his play style and his size. He is sweet around all adults and is good around children, but due to his size and energy level and at times impulse control challenges, we recommend a home with older children (12+) or adults only. Currently, Sunshine weighs around 80 lbs and has no known allergies. Because of an unknown medical condition which causes him to stumble (inconsistently), we believe he would be best suited in a home as a family pet. He has had a couple of inconsistent, mild seizures, but his veterinarians were not able to find any long term challenges or a diagnosis. He has seen a neurologist and was cleared.

Five lessons (or up to 5 hours) of private handling education provided by the team at Shelter to Soldier for foster or adoption.

Please note that Sunshine is a courtesy post and not a Wags & Walks dog. If interested in learning more, contact Kyrie at kyrie@sheltertosoldier.org.
