Meet SweetPea! This gentle giant is a five-year-old Great Dane with a heart as big as her paws. Last month, SweetPea was found in a local shelter, severely emaciated and in urgent need of rescue. Our team stepped in right away, but shortly after arriving, her condition took a turn for the worse. She was rushed to the ER, where she was diagnosed with a severe case of pneumonia. After weeks of round-the-clock care, SweetPea has made an incredible recovery. She’s put on weight, regained her strength, and is now ready to find her forever family!
This sweet girl is incredibly affectionate and loves nothing more than being near her people. She’s friendly with dogs of all sizes but is more of a lounger than a roughhouser and companionship is her favorite pastime. SweetPea enjoys sunbathing in the yard, leisurely strolls, and all the head scratches she can get. She walks beautifully on a leash and is happiest when she’s by your side. SweetPea would thrive in a home that understands large breeds and is ready to continue supporting her as she fully regains her strength.
