Gigi
Meet Gigi, a resilient and loving 4-year-old, 37-pound poodle mix with a heart full of affection and a spirit that shines brightly despite the challenges she has faced. Rescued in July, Gigi was HW+, severely underweight, matted, and struggling with a pre-existing leg injury that hadn't healed correctly. After discovering the extent of her condition once she was shaved, our vets determined that her leg couldn’t be saved and needed amputation. However, Gigi was too underweight for surgery at the time. Over the past few months, she has gained the weight she needed, had her leg successfully amputated, and is now thriving with her fur growing back beautifully.
Gigi’s personality has blossomed during her recovery—she’s incredibly sweet with a goofy side that will steal your heart. She adores every person and dog she meets and is always ready for playtime. Her favorite thing in the world is being petted, and she’ll gently nudge you if you stop. Gigi doesn’t quite understand personal space but in the most endearing way. She’s potty and crate-trained, knows a few basic commands, and would do well in a variety of homes. She is currently undergoing treatment for HW and is expected to make a full recovery. This treatment is covered by W&W. Now healthy and happy, Gigi is ready to find her forever family who will love her as much as she loves them.
