This is Sprout. He’s a sweet 6-month-old Terrier mix with so much love to give! When Spout joined our program four months ago with his two siblings, sadly, they all were in rough condition and tested positive for Parvo. We made sure they got the care they needed to get healthy and luckily, they recovered. While his siblings got adopted, Sprout had a few additional medical concerns. After numerous trips to the vet and cardiologist, we discovered that Sprout has a puppy heart murmur. Because of this, he will need to take medication for the rest of his life and get routine echocardiograms. The vet doesn’t know his life expectancy and how his heart murmur might impact the length of his life, but we do know he deserves to find a loving home where he can live comfortably. Despite all of his health issues, Sprout has proved himself to be an affectionate, loving pup.

Although he can be a little timid at first, once he warms up, he is quick to become your new best friend. With the help of his foster, he’s had a headstart on basic training and has been working on building his confidence and experiencing new things. He loves car rides, going for walks, playing with toys, and getting cozy for a nap. Sprout will need adopters who are willing to continue his medical treatment and give him the love and comfort he needs to live out the rest of his days. He does great around cats and we think would benefit from living with a more confident and mellow pup to show him the ropes, if possible. Sprout has dealt with a lot in just four months and deserves a forever family excited to welcome him home. If you’re looking to open your home to a sweet and special puppy, consider our boy Sprout.
