Make a Difference in 2021

Struggling to find a new year’s resolution that works for you? We’ve got you covered! We wanted to share with you some things you can do that will not only set you up for a happier, more productive year, but that also help our pups! What’s your 2021 new year resolution? Let us know what you’re committing to in the comments section!

1. Live More Like a Dog

If 2020 taught us anything, it was to slow down and really be present. Of course, any Wags person knows who’s best at this...Dogs! Dogs show us how to live well by how they prioritize their time: love, cuddles, playtime, and snacks. Would we be happier if we prioritized love, cuddles, playtime, and snacks? Let’s be honest, of course! This year when we see an opportunity to lay in that one warm sun spot or simply spend time on the couch with a loved one, let’s seize the moment and remember what’s most important to us: spending the time with have with those we love most.

2. Become a Wags volunteer or foster

Looking for a way to make a difference in 2021? Sign up for our volunteer or foster program by emailing volunteer@wagsandwalks.org! We simply could not do our life-saving work without the people who care for our pups while they patiently await finding their forever home. We need help with dog walks, transportation to/from vet appointments, and we even have some remote opportunities available for those of you sheltering in place, including fostering. Our incredible fosters help us to double the amount of dogs saved: the dog they take home with them and the dog that can now take the open kennel at our adoption center. If you are looking to give back to your community this year, consider joining our volunteer family today!

3. Protect the people and pets you love with a legal will

Take 20 minutes today to complete your easiest resolution yet, and make a plan for your

loved ones and pets. We shared this resource throughout 2020, and so we’ve been happy to see how many members of our community have used it to complete this important task, including creating guardianship plans for their pets. With this tool, creating a legally-binding will takes 20 minutes or less, and is completely free to use! We hope you’re inspired this month to look towards the future, keep a resolution, and protect what you love most!

4. Make your monthly donations automatic with Pup Club

Join the cutest club in town! When you join the Pup Club you become part of a group of dedicated donors who give on a monthly basis, making a difference in the lives of pups in our care all year long. Your support is a reliable source of income which the dogs can depend on for a safe temporary home, nourishing food, urgent medical care and much more. Your support helps make our life-saving programs possible all year long. Plus, receive members-only exclusive benefits, perks and more! Learn more at www.wagsandwalks.org/pupclub or email pupclub@wagsandwalks.org.

5. Dedicate more time to self care

Everyone needs a little help relaxing these days. Are you a CBD fan? Or are you curious to try it out? We love MedTerra! Not only are they an amazing partner of ours (which means Wags gets a kickback with every purchase you make), but they offer relaxing treats for both humans and pets that we absolutely love! MedTerra crafts CBD for dogs because they wanted our furry companions to be able to enjoy the same benefits of CBD that we do. They even have an online quiz that helps you decide which product(s) are best for you and/or your pup. USE code “wagsnwalks” for 15% off your purchase and that 15% will go right back to Wags! Visit https://medterracbd.com to learn more.

If CBD isn’t your thing, check out Young Living Essential Oils! Their mission is to provide natural solutions for people and their pets so they can have more energy and vitality to live the best life possible! They offer services and essential oils for both humans and pets. Not only will you be treating yourself (or you pup) to some much deserved self-care, but when you make a purchase with Young Living, a percentage goes back to Wags & Walks to help us save more dogs!
